We are looking to transfer purchased scripts to a new laptop as the one they are on is faulty. Is this possible and if so how??
1 Correct answer
Thanks for the feedback folks. We had to do a very round about way as the downloaded/purchased scripts did not come with an instalation script-very confusing process. But it's fixed now so thank you!
We simply used another instalation script(?) from the same company program previously purchased and copied it to the folder. Success.

There is a folder called "Startup" in the FrameMaker install folder.
That is the default place that ExtendScripts would be stored. But in theory scripts can be stored anywhere.
If you can, it would be best to contact the companies/people you bought scripts from and ask if they can supply them to you again or if you can re-download them.
If you still have the original downloads somewhere, they probably came with installation instructions, which you can follow again on the new computer.

It is worthy to clarify what kind of scripts you mean. If they are ExtendScripts, then you can just copy them from one computer to the other. If they are FrameScripts, the same is probably true, except that you would need to be sure FrameScript is installed and licensed. If they are any other type of script, only those who wrote and/or understand the scripts would know.
