I want to use the <$chapnum> tag when creating a technical manual. This is how I want it to be set-up...

Right-click on Chapter 1 file > Numbering

This is in the TOC? Start by checking the ¶ tag name for the title in chapter 1. It needs to exactly match the ¶ name in Chapters 2, 3 etc.
