Where does FrameMaker store list customisations?

Some of my templates have a lot of paragraph styles. While I try to make the easy to access, it is sometimes useful to use a customised view on the paragraph catalog like this:

The customised view seems to be document specific, though. Meaning, that the next document I open will not have the same customised list of paragraph styles. Much like View Options which are also document specific. Is there a way to export these customised palette settings from one document to another? I suppose they must reside somewhere in the document?...

I'm sure that this would have been the exact time Klaus would chime in - because if somebody knew this stuff off the top of his head, it would have been him.

Yes, I believe Klaus would have known such stuff.

Hi Bjørn, I have been looking into this, but I can't see where this information is exposed to ExtendScript or the FDK. I have some ideas for a useful alternative, but all I have so far is a rough interface. As I have time, I will try to develop this further.

No, and I am to little help, unfortunately. I CAN find the info in MIF, though. Actually I would have believed such info to be part of document properties. But it seems these settings are stranded in digital limbo and can not be transferred from one document to another using Import -> Formats

Hi Bjørn,

You are right. Customer lists are document specific.

After investigating several hours, I've asked the developers to make this accessible for Extendscript.

They did so, but it is "READONLY" ;-((

I've developed some scripts to build and import User lists, but it is difficult to handle, so I didn't publish them yet.

You can contact me directly to discuss that. (You should have my e-mail address)

Thank you @Klaus Göbel My need for this facility is not important enough that I am going to try fixing it with a script.
It is, I believe, part of the list of FrameMaker UI issues, I would like Adobe to fix, like the lack of proper page setup, clarity in PDF generation, proper Unicode handling and whatnot 🙂 But it was kind of you to invest time in the question.
