I am working in structured FM 2022 and using the Mekon Eclipse for S1000D add-on. I need to use .cgm images with hotspots and specific width lines as per the Spec V2.2.
I only have Solidworks Composer to create my .cgm images and they seem ok before they are imported by FM. When the image is converted by FM, the lines are wrong and the hotspots are not recognised.
Can anyone suggest where I am going wrong, as images from the S1000D bike pack with hotspots work ok?

Is the content of the CGM vector or raster?
What does "lines are wrong" mean?
Can Solidworks Composer generate SVG?

Hi Bob, thanks for your responce. The CGM are vector (or should be) and our customer has specifically asked for .cgm, although SW Composer can produce .svg
The lines do not reproduce at the set thicknesses and dashed lines become solid.

I've not worked with CGM, nor hotspots, but for those who have they might also need to know:
Did any of this work in earlier FM releases?

Output is Data modules to be uploaded to a CSDB and viewed electronically. Hotspots from the imported CGM, should be auto-generated by FM on import, but this is not happening and they cannot be input manually once in FM.

I believe the issue here is that hotspot code "normally" resides in the framemaker document and not in the imported document/file. The files in question.... I imagine it may be drawings with bullet explanations - is that right? Can you possibly post a cgm file here, so we can have a look?

Hi, it seems that .cgm nor the Solidworks composer SMG file where I created it will uplooad to this forum. I am communicating with Solidworks and Adobe to see if there is a fix for this issue.
Thanks for your suggestions guys.

Heck, last I knew, .fm & .book files couldn't be uploaded to the FM forum, so that's not surprising (and not likely to get immediate remediation).

I recall that SVG images containing links (hotspots) are recognized, and perhaps you will have luck in other formats as well, but I've not seen where Fm will auto-generate links that aren't intentionally created beforehand in the placed documents.
While converting to PDF (or at least, when viewing PDF) some things will be automatically recognized as links, but I believe that functionality is for text within the document and does not extend to placed images.

I doubt you will be able to import cgm with hotspots. I would believe you - may - be able to do so using svg as @Bob_Niland suggests.
