P: Canon Raw burst rolls

Hi, I've rented a Canon R6II the past two weeks and made extensive use of the pre-release RAW-burst function to capture daytime lightning. I can extract RAW's from those burst via the Canon DPP4 or in-camera, but it would be nice if Lightroom could handle the roll files as well. Even if only for library management. Extracting RAWs from it like you can do now with JPEG's from movie files would be awesome.

Hi,

being using LR sinsce early version and I like it more an more till this 11.4 which even suorted my Canon EOS R7 from day one - really great!

My question: are there any plans to support the Raw burst Mode CR3s directly in LR or CR? Using the Canaon DPP4 and its siblings for getting CR3s our of the Raw busrt CR3 is a NIGHTMARE and it would help me a lot with my bird photography.

Ciao, Bernd http://vogel.kunrath.de

I just saw this question - maybe the latest update has the support for the burst mode? Have you tried it?

Not being Adobe, I have no idea about their plans. But see:

Thx for your answer, yes I did try the 11.4. I havent found something in there regarding burst mode.

The official statement is use DPP4 - which is a total nightmare (at least me using it)😟.

Ciao, Bernd

I believe these are .cr3 files. I also want Lightroom Classic to read these files directly.

Upvote the feature request here to show your support for Adobe building support for Canon's raw burst mode files, so that we don't have to find, install, and use DPP just for this one feature

The only reason that I need to find, install, and use Canon's DPP app is for RAW burst mode, and it slows down my workflow enough that I don't even use the precapture feature of my R6m2, which is quite unfortunate as it was one of the features that I upgraded to this model to get. It'd be a huge time saver if Adobe could build support for importing these files, so that I can use this feature of my camera without having to fuss with DPP.

There are a handful of posts in the Discussions topic requesting the same

And as Canon is releasing more models with this feature, this need will continue to grow to more photographers.
