Exporting Layers to Files

Community Beginner ,

I understand why there's an index number added to the file name when you export layers to files, but it's not always convenient and I often have to spend ages renaming my files. I have even seen a video of how to re-code Photoshop to stop this happening which works, but it re-sets itself with every Photoshop update. What would be useful is a tick box where you can turn this feature on and off.

I have added my vote, I think that this feature request has come up more than once before. Adobe really need to update these old ExtendScript based scripts to UXP and add support for this and WebP etc.

In addition to editing the underlying script, another alternative is to use a 3rd party script instead:

One can also right-click on selected layers in the layers panel and use Export As (which is limited to formats such as JPEG and PNG).
