The June 2026 Photoshop update is here, bringing more creative choices and meaningful workflow fixes. What’s newThis release expands creative choice in Generate Image with access to custom‑trained AI models, similar to what you’ve seen with Generative Fill. You can now choose from Adobe and partner models, including Firefly Image 5, Flux.2 Pro, and Gemini, making it easier to explore different visual styles, achieve stronger photorealism, and get results that stick closer to your prompts. Whether you’re experimenting with concepts or polishing production‑ready visuals, having multiple models at hand gives you more control over how your ideas come to life. Bug fixes — thanks to you!Your feedback continues to shape these updates. In this release, we’ve addressed several customer‑reported issues to make everyday workflows more reliable:Canvas size relative mode fields display incorrect default values, reject zero and negative values, and use incorrect increment steps. Add support to renam

Keeping your Layers panel organized just got a whole lot easier. Layer Cleanup in Photoshop 27.6 and above automatically deletes empty layers and renames layers based on their content, so you can focus on creating, not housekeeping. With a single action from the Layers panel, Photoshop scans your document and removes blank pixel or text layers that tend to pile up during exploration. At the same time, it can intelligently rename layers, giving them clear, descriptive names that reflect what’s inside, so you no longer have to guess what “Layer 37 copy 2” contains. You’re in control of how much cleanup happens. Run it across the entire document for a full reset, or apply it only to selected layers when you want to tidy up as you go. Here is a quick tutorial demonstrating this feature. Why this mattersFaster navigation in complex files Cleaner handoffs when sharing PSDs with teammates Less friction when revisiting older projects Better layer discipline without manual effortWhether you’r

How to Report a Bug in the Adobe App Community Run into something that’s not working the way it should in Photoshop? Let’s tackle it together. When you share bugs in the Adobe Community, you’re helping product teams see what’s really happening, recreate the issue, and fix things faster. Think of this guide as your sidekick—it’ll walk you through creating a clear, helpful bug report, no technical expertise needed. Before you startBefore jumping in with a new bug report, take a quick look around the community to see if someone’s already spotted the same issue. If you find a matching post, add your vote and feel free to add your experience there instead of starting from scratch. I’m trying to use the Generative Fill tool in Photoshop, but I keep getting the error message: “This feature is currently not available.” I selected the transparent area under my photo and clicked on Generative Fill, but it won’t work. Could someone help me understand why this is happening and how I can fix it?
I never encountered this issue as bad until updating to the 2025 version. I have been trying to edit wedding clients, ELDERY CLIENTS, peoples selfies. GenFill Community guidelines instantly deny any single photo involving a woman. All of these would have been do-able prior to the upgrade. It could be her face; none of my shoots have been anything remotely NSFW. Yet every single photo gets declined, even removing an eye bag. It's ridiculous, as the 2024 version never gave me this issue. It's now making my job twice as hard and it is impossible to edit 90% of my clients now. I feel like I'm paying for a service that downgraded its quality and instead of being a tool that helps me is now costing me more time and money?
Thanks to all who took part in our drill challenge. It is amazing what was made from that simple object. This week we have another object. It is a watchmaker’s jewelling tool, used to fit and adjust the jewels which act as bearings in a watch movement. Whilst that is it’s real purpose, I’m sure you can come up with some great alternatives. So for this challenge, what can you make from this tool? The “rules”:Use the starter image as at least part of your own image entry. Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright, etc. Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum “regulars”. The challenge is not limited to Photoshop. Any Adobe software can be used. There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off your skills, or bring a bit of humor and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go! The starter image is made available for you to use in this forum challenge o
This is truly bizarre. I created a action to crop a bunch of images. The action only has 2 parts.1. Select Subject2. Image/CropI used Automate/Batch to run it on a folder with 48 small clothing images that I downloaded from a site that sells blank garments. Here’s the crazy part. As I watched the screen run the action, a garment would pop up, momentarily process, and the lights in my room flickered 3 or 4 times, on each garment! LOL There were 48 images, so I had plenty of time to make sure that I’m not imagining it. 48 times my ceiling light flickered, perfectly timed to each imaged just before it closed the image. The image would open, process, lights flicker, then image closed. So what does this mean? Does this mean that Photoshop actually caused an energy surge to do each of these little images. Each image sizes averaged 500KB. I’ve been a Photoshop user for several decades and this is the most bizarre thing I’ve ever seen.I’m using Photoshop 27.8OS Name Microsoft Wi
Not only photoshop, all of softwares by adobe. Many artists who using adobe products don't want to using & supporting generative ai at all.we have rights to opt-out from these things like generative ai tools in software, unwanted ads and nofitications.
I was given a lot of photos of diagrams and asked to remove the creases so they would look a bit flatter. How can I do this in Photoshop? The photo shows an example of creases.
My genereative ai credits are disappearing without me using any ai. I opened a jpg in photoshop, went to the adjustments panel and manually used the sliders to adjust the levels. When I opened Photoshop I had 34/1000 credits left. When I saved out my jpg after adjusting the levels I had 33/1000 credits. I did not use any form of the generative ai.Additionally when I do use the generative ai to extend one photo it uses far more than one credit. This morning I started with 60/1000 credits. I opened the jpg I wanted to extend. I used my crop tool to extend all sides to where I wanted them and hit generate to fill in. I flattened my image, saved and closed, my credits went all the way down to 34/1000.
This is very common in VFX workflows. Lens correction only can undistort, but after I’ve done my work and created elements that fit the undistorted plate, I need a way to redistort said elements to match the original, distorted plate. The Custom tab in lens correction undistorts, but it’s manual and I need a way to match the perfectly match the original distortion, which is not possible with the manual method. Nuke does this, but it only works on video, plus getting Nuke just for lens distortion is kinda crazy lol
Recently my windows machine updated, and now none of my PSD files have their corresponding file icon on the thumbnail. It will show the thumbnail just fine, but the file icon is missing. Other programs display their file icon just fine.An example of a PSD file present in the explorer, but missing its file icon in the thumbnail. An example of a different file type (.clip) that displays a thumbnail and file icon. I’ve told Windows to always open PSDs with Photoshop. I’ve also turned the option to display file icons off and on again.Would like any insight others have into fixing this. It’s not ideal to not know at a glance which files are PSDs, and I would prefer not to display file types in the name of files.
I’ve reported this already in “Bug Reports” and my post was deleted with no resolution and no communication. I’ve reposted there and now looking for help here! When “opening as layers in photoshop” the images are very slow to load in PS 27.8 vs. 27.7. This problem is confirmed by several other users I know. What used to take 11 seconds now takes 17 seconds. There’s a new behavior where each of the layers “flashes” up on screen for a split second before the loading actually starts and it takes significantly longer than it used. Downgrading to 27.7 restores correct (fast) functionality. Why would my bug report get deleted and if there’s a bug then, how are we supposed to report it so that Adobe will address it? Thanks

In Photoshop26 v27.8 on MacBookPro M4 OS 15.7.7 the brush tool suddenly started showing a patch of grey squares all around the area the brush is being used. Also happens with clone and healing brushes. I have made sure everyhitg is up to date. I’m using a Wacom tablet, driver is up to date. I’ve restarted everything mutlipe times. Problem is intermittent. Happened yesterday for the first time. This morning it seemed to have resolved, but is back and now happens with clone and healing brushes as well. Making PS almost unusable. I’ve seen a few random solutions including “Preferences > Technology Previews>Deactive Native Canvas” but I don’t see that option. Anyway it’s really slowing me down. Thanks for any help.
I have had a Creative Cloud CC plan for years. This morning when I opened my app and clicked on Photoshop it began to open but then disappeared. I rebooted my computer. I tried every possible fix. I tried the Repair option. Nothing works. Now what do I do?
Tried to use this feature today (worked fin in previous version of PS) and today, after upgrading to ver 27, I get the "We've temporarily disable this feature because of an error" message. Of course I don't know what that error is, but pretty sure it's an error. Running Windows 11 25H2 build 26200.7019 AMD Ryzen 7 7000AMD 6600X 8G (latest drivers)
I updated to PS v27.8 and it will not open, no matter how I try. I've restarted my desktop, tried opening directly, tried opening a file, tried opening through Creative Cloud, and I only get a Crash report to fill out. I did the upgrade a couple days ago (Sunday 6/21/2026), and haven’t been able to open Photoshop since. I REALLY need to be able to use it ASAP.
I type one word, photoshop spreads same word everywhere in the document. it is wasting my effort
I'm looking for someone with advanced Adobe Photoshop experience who may be able to help recover or diagnose a very important PSB file. The file is stored on an external hard drive and opened without any issues yesterday. Today, however, it refuses to open and Photoshop displays the following error:"Could not open '[filename].psb' because of a program error."There have been no Photoshop updates or macOS updates since the file was last opened successfully. As far as I'm aware, nothing changed between yesterday and today. The file is extremely important, and I'm hoping to determine whether the issue is with the PSB file itself, Photoshop, or the external drive. Ideally, I'd like to recover the document with all layers and edits intact. If you have experience diagnosing or recovering Photoshop PSB files, or have successfully resolved this specific "program error" before, I would be very grateful for your assistance.
Brushes suddenly stop working properly with blending modes. No matter what mode is selected its always paint flat color.
