How to Report a Bug in the Adobe App Community

Run into something that’s not working the way it should in Photoshop? Let’s tackle it together. When you share bugs in the Adobe Community, you’re helping product teams see what’s really happening, recreate the issue, and fix things faster. Think of this guide as your sidekick—it’ll walk you through creating a clear, helpful bug report, no technical expertise needed.

Before you start

Before jumping in with a new bug report, take a quick look around the community to see if someone’s already spotted the same issue. If you find a matching post, add your vote and feel free to add your experience there instead of starting from scratch. It keeps everything in one place and helps the team connect the dots and solve things faster.

Note: Any duplicate posts will be merged into a primary post that you can follow for updates on the issue.

What makes a good bug report?

A great bug report tells the full story it explains what happened, what you expected to happen, and how someone else can experience the issue too. The more clear and detailed you can be, the easier it is for teams to jump in, understand what’s going on, and get it fixed.

Include these details

  • Issue summary: A short, clear sentence describing the problem you’re seeing.
  • Product and version: The exact Adobe app and version number you’re using. You can usually find this under Help > About in the app.
  • Operating system: Whether you’re using Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, or a web browser—and which version.
  • Steps to reproduce: A numbered list describing exactly what you did, step by step, so someone else can follow along.
  • Expected result: What you thought should happen after following those steps.
  • Actual result: What actually happened instead.
  • Attachments (optional): Screenshots, screen recordings, sample files, or short videos that show the problem.

Example

Issue summary: Exported images appear darker than expected when opened in another app.

Product and version: Photoshop desktop version 27.5

Operating system: macOS 14

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open an existing document.
2. Choose File > Export > Export As.
3. Export the file using default settings.
4. Open the exported file in another image viewer.

Expected result: The exported image matches how it looks inside Photoshop.

Actual result: The exported image looks significantly darker.

Note: You can get find your system information by going Help > System Info while in Photoshop. This will provide us with key information we need to triage the issue.

If Photoshop is crashing, make sure to submit a crash report using your Adobe ID email so the team can track it. Not sure how to send one? Check out this article for a quick walkthrough.

A few helpful tips

  • Report one issue per post. This makes it easier to track and resolve.
  • Avoid using technical shortcuts or abbreviations—plain language is best.
  • If something changes after an update, mention the last version where it worked correctly. (Note: You can find this by going to Help > System Information.)

What happens next?

Adobe staff may make small updates to your post, such as refining the title or adding or updating tags, to help make it more accessible to others. Adobe staff and Community Experts may also ask to follow up questions to clarify the issue. If the problem can be reproduced, its status will be updated. Any bug report may be moved to Questions if they are related to product usage or need additional details.

Vote: Voting helps teams understand impact—if others are seeing the same issue, encourage them to vote as well.
