I've been working on a project that has a title rendered in 3D text. This text is needed for both digital and print assets therefore I need to generate both 72 and 300 dpi versions.
The issue I am having is that when I cahnge the document raster effects settings to 300dpi the text no longer renders correctly (see attached images for 72 and 300dpi results respectively)
If I render the text as a wireframe at 300dpi from the 3D menu the frame displays correctly, however if I export it as a 3D object or expand appearance the display error is baked in.
I've tried starting a completely new document and rebuilding the text from scratch after a cache delete / full restart AI restart but the problem persists.
Can anyone advise on this issue please? I can't find anything online similar to this issue at present.

Is this live type?

Sorry forgot to mention this: have tried it with both live text and outlined text and get the same results.

Which version of Illustrator is it?

Most recent update 27.4.1

The most recent update should not produce issues with the size of objects anymore.
You could try and create this in a smaller size, then expand as vector and then enlarge it? Does that work?

Hey Monika, appreciate the response.
Yeah unfortunately the most recent update of any Adobe software doesn't ever do what it's supposed to.
I have exapnded it as a vector (great shout) but the mesh is so dense and complicated that that object is barely moveable, let alone able to be dropped into other illustrations and scaled up. It's a shame there isn't an option to only render visible faces when you convert a 3D mesh. Would save massive amounts of time / processing power.
I'll keep experimenting and update you if I find a feasible workaround. At this stage it may just be easier for me to work in C4D or Blender.

Is it the Classic or the new 3D effect?
Looking at what you showed, you would be better off with the all vector 3D Cassic effect.

The stroke might be too thin.
Have you tried adjusting the perspecitve slider by 2 or 3 degrees?

Nudging may help. I can't reproduce the problem, but have an older Macbook and an older OS.

That's really interesting. With my version of Classic 3D I can't get it anywhere near the same quality or perspective tilt. Really wanted to avoid it on this project but I may just go back to working in Cinema4D. Illustrator's 3D system is currently pretty laughable.

Can you please upload demo files and post a link in this forum?
I don't want to rebuild your design.
