Adding new data messes up graph

I have created and update a graph for work, but have been having an issue with being able to add new data. Whenever I do, the graph changes color and deletes labels. I have added screen shots to help explain my problem.

Unfortunately that is a running issue with Illustrator basically since the invention of graphs.
