Align keeps changing from artboard to selection

Hi,

I'm using the latest release of Illustrator 2018cc and I align 99% of the time to the arboard but every time I want to realign something I find that the default option has changed back to selection.

Is there any workaround?

its a bug, when you switch to Artboard views, the align switches back to object.  If you never have to work in Artboard mode, you're good.  Kinda like saying if your space bar key does not work, then don't worry if you never need to used the space bar key.

According to Shivendra Agarwal (who replied on the problem the Illustrator Feedback page) they are fixing it.

We have a fix for Align to selection issue and is available in the pre-release build. Please visit http://adobe.ly/1Q3rCPI and get the latest build titled Adobe Illustrator CC 22.0.2  - Hot Fix.
