Hi, I am new to illustrator and I like to figure out programs like this myself, but I can't figure out how to blend brush strokes. I have looked all over different forums and articles and I can't find anything that works.

Basically I am trying to blend the orange and yellow in the circle to make a mix as if you were actually painting and the colors mixed to form like a yellow orange. The smooth color blending option is not working, I have tried doing the Object>expand, and then the smooth color, but nothing is working.

Anyone have a solution?

You could try selecting the brush strokes then going to the Transparency panel (which you can also access through the Appearance panel by clicking on Opacity) and change the blend mode from Normal to something that makes the type of color blend you want.

I created my own set of transparent brushes you're free to try. The stroke width can be increased and the color changed to create different effects.
