Can't create new document

Hello there,

so I opened Illustrator today to create some new stuff but suddenly this happened. There is no way to create new document, the window for creating new documents is broken in some weird way.

Please help me if you know what to do with this.

Open Preferences > General and check the option "Legacy New document"

This doesn't solve the actual issue, so after the next update you might try and check if the new interface works then.

I have some updates.

After a while I found that this issue was caused by Avast as well as my another problem with units -Weird units

You are not alone, I was just about to post the same thing. Maybe they don't want us to create any new documents!

There are already two possible siolutions mentioned in this thread. You might want to try and see if they help you?

Sorry you missed my poor attempt at humour. My goal was simply to let adobe know that it wasn't a standalone problem on one machine and that it was affecting other users.

I really did appreciate your solution as I much prefer the legacy new document (its so much quicker to open and you can instantly see all the advanced settings). I marked it as helpful before I left my previous comment. Thanks!

I got your humor. What I can't figure out is why anyone would want to use the new document crap. I just want to be able to create a new blank document. I don't want to use any stupid templates or idiotic stuff like that. I've been using illustrator since version 1.0. This is the first release where i've thought they have lost their minds. This new interface is just stupid. i can't believe everyone isn't screaming about it.
