I created an svg in Inkscape, and I opened the svg in Illustrator. When I hover over the entire artboard, the cursor shows a circle with a diagonal slash through it, aka the "do not" symbol, and it doesn't allow me to edit the svg. I want to draw on top of the svg and it won't let me use the brush tool, it just shows the "do not" symbol. I tried adding a layer on top of it and the symbol is still there. How do I solve this?
Ok never mind, I see I have to "place" the file instead of opening it
