Can't move images

Very basic problem but i can't seem to move the jpeg images i've dropped in an ai file . . I can't even drag/drop the images from my desktop onto this discussion.  Any ideas??

If you can't drag an image from your desktop, sounds like it isn't an Illustrator problem, but something else going on. Can you do anything on your computer?

We need to see a screen shot of best a quicktime movie so when can see the problem.

Is it an Illustrator problem or it is in other applications as well?

This discussion has nothing to do with your work in Illustrator. Web based interfaces might or might not work like desktop applications. You never know.

THat apart: please tell us your system and version.

WHat exactly you are trying to do using which Illustrator tool exactly.

Try to close Illustrator and restart the system. Such things happen sometimes. If nothing chnges, please show us a screenshot and give the basic info (answer the Monika's question).
