Original shape in magenta on the left. Blue shape is the original simply turned 180 degrees. Suddenly, a little slice of color fill appears beyond the edge of the path in the notch. Both paths are closed. What gives?

Link works!

Shapes fill looks perfect here too.

How does it look for you if turn off GPU performance- eg  switch to View > preview on cpu ?

Maybe it's just a screen rendering issue of the graphics card not playing nice with the GPU feature,

If so you could try to update the cards drivers

Wasn't able to open your link.

The screen image looks ok, although there is an unnecessary anchor point below the inner point.

Have you tried deleting it to see if the shape corrects itself? You'll need to update the direction points on the corner anchor.

Does this link work? https://filetea.me/n3wEl2zE73sT8CEP31lTnMYWQ

Yup, tried it, and unfortunately, it doesn't correct itself.

If I tug the lower left corner handle, I can get it to go away. So it's somehow tied to that anchor, inexplicably.

Okay, try this link: http://www.filedropper.com/artifact

(don't really want to use my personal Dropbox to host a file for a public forum)

Thanks, Ray! (And thank you to rcraighead as well.) I did "preview on CPU" and the problem went away.

I believe that, since I'm on a Mac, the only way I can update my graphics card driver is to update the OS. So this is the kick in the butt I need to go ahead and update.
