Change layer color on ipad

I do not see the change layer color option on illustrator for iPad. None of their tutorials mention how to do it either. I know I can make a square and do it that way but that is not precise enough for me. Please help

Unfortunately that is the only option - draw a square. Because Illustrator is a Vector program, color can only exist if it is within the boundaries of at least two path segments. For better precision on the ipad, try zooming in on the corner of your artboard to start your shape.
