I have a problem with Illustrator charts: For example, if I create a pie chart and reformat it "manually", i.e. change line thickness, line color or the font, it all looks fine then.
However, if I then change a value in the dataset and update the chart, it breaks my visual formatting. But not even logically. Some lines stay the way I formatted them, some go back to the way they were when I created the chart, or data points I had colored are now black again.
How can I solve this problem (which has existed for years)? Thx4Hlp.
Attached a Sample - Before and After.

Through all these years people haven't found a solution.
Did you change the points using effects directly applied to the point? Or did you create your custom data point?

Not really "Effects". F.e. i simply click on all the same Lines, then select 0,5pt and Grey Color. Then i click on a Data Marker and select Blue Color. And another Green Color. But when i change a Value in the Table, its get broken back nearly to the Beginning. Frustrating. These Charts could be much more Powerful to work with...

That could be saved as a custom graph marker and then it might stick better. Perhaps.
Also: you could try and save it as a graphic style. At least it will be easier re-applied.
