I'm a newbie. I purchased a polaroid illustator file image from Adobe. How do I get rid of the larger checkered background. It doesn't seem to have its own layer? Any help would be so appreciated! Screen Shot 2020-03-07 at 5.19.50 PM.png

If this file is an Ai-file:

  • open your Layers Panel
  • unlock all (layers and objects)
  • select the"larger checkered background" rectangle/group/layer

  • try to remove the selection.

If that was not successful - create a screenshot like the one you have - but with selected "larger checkered backgroud" and opened Layers Panel with the visible marked "background" within.

Hello, noreen1.
Is the file you downloaded an Illustrator file?
As a trial, I searched for similar images with Adobe stock, but it was just jpeg format.

Did you download a bitmap image with a single checkerboard and photographic paper object?
If so, cut out only the photographic paper and create the shadow expression yourself.
Use "Crop Image" or "Mask" to crop.
Draw shadows with the pen tool, switch to multiply mode and blur with filters.
