CMYK values of white are incorrect and lead to a grey shade

Hello,

whenever I want to apply the „colour“ white the CMYK values are C=0, M=0, K=3, Y=0. Even if I use the pipette and the white background or enter the values manually. What can I do?

Thanks for your help!

I think it's your having your Intent (Priorität) set to Absolute Colorimetric (Absolut Farbmetrische) that's causing the issue. Try switching to Relative Colorimetric (I don't know the German translation, but it's the 3rd in the list).

But as Monika suggests, you'll probably better off using global swatches rather than the colour picker.

The document setting is a CMYK color mode. I am using the the iso coated v2 300% color profile and switsched off the RGB mode in my color-management.

But then why are you entering HEX code?

Just use the "white" swatch in the swatches panel.

I´m not enter a HEX code. When I enter the color value : C= 0, M= 0, K=0 Y= 0, it automatically switches to  C=0, M=0, K=3, Y= 0. The "white" in my Swatch panel is also "grey".

Please post your color management settings.

That looks completely weird.

Also: try a restart.

Your settings shouldn't cause this.

Does it also happen when you don't use the color picker? Use the color panel instead. Use swatches (global swatches are best for infographics).

Has the document been converted from RGB color mode?

Did you select a Print profile when creating the new document?

It should not look like this when you set up a new document, because it would throw off all your swatches:

Have you tried a restart?

When you let your computer (and Illustrator) run for days without a restart, it might cause all kinds of errors. Just asking, because I let mine run as well.

On a side note, I've never quite understood why non-global swatches should even exist, let alone be the default.
