I am trying to create a fibonaci pattern which expands or contracts from its centre outwards (I want it to grow!) as the shape container it is applied to grows or shrinks. Anyone?!
Pic below to explain what I mean by fibonaci circle - think of a sunflower centre!

You cannot have that thing as a pattern in Illustrator, because it doesn't tile. You can make a clipping mask.

Thank you Monika, close, but those answers / posts don't explain how to make a pattern swatch with an expanding fibonaci spiral (I'll update my question now, to better describe what I meant).

A pattern swatch of that will not work.

Is that because the shapes are random in the example pic I posted? Or because an expanding spiral seamless pattern is impossible? I would be happy if the dots were not rough and irregular shapes, even just round dots would be great!

It's possible to write a script with a user interface so as to increase/decrease the number and/or size of dots to the user's liking. The outcome will be a group of paths though, not a pattern.
