Creative Cloud/Illustrator installer problem.

I am trying to download the Illustrator free trial onto my mac (Catalina) and I cannot begin the install process.  I am able to download the installer and then when double clicking the icon to begin the installation, nothing happens.  Has anyone encountered this issue before/know if this is a simple fix?

Is there any error warning?

Hi Robert, this is about the system specifications for the software you want to install.

For Illustrator: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/system-requirements.html

 

There also could be general issues https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/failed-install-creative-cloud-desktop.html

And then there is a whole group about installation issues: https://community.adobe.com/t5/download-install/ct-p/ct-download-and-install?page=1&sort=latest_repl...  who might be more up to date about very specific things going on
