Custom arrowhead not selectable

I created a custom arrowhead symbol (I copied the original arrowhead file, edited it, and saved it to the plug-ins folder). The new arrowhead shows up fine in the stroke panel. However, when I select it, it applies the arrowhead which I copied it from and not the custom one I just selected.

Did you create a new symbol in the symbols panel of the arrowhead file?

Could you please tell us exactly what you did to create the arrowhead or maybe share the arrowhead file? Creative Cloud or Dropbox or the like

Okay I found the issue, I copied an existing symbol rather than creating a new one. But now I would like my symbol to be as thick as the stroke, is that possible?

Okay, I did find a way to do this in the meantime, but it's far more complex than it should be

The symbol scales in relation to the stroke width.

It would really help if you could upload it.

What did you do to solve it?
