Exporting All Layers to Individual PNGs

Does anyone here happen to know a way to export all layers into individual images, in my case .pngs specifically?  I found a script that would allow me to do it with everything sized to the artboard, but what I'd really like is to be able to do it as though each layer was exported individually without consideration to the artboard, so sized just to the piece of art.  I thought I'd ask and see if anyone happens to know a trick or a script for that.

FYI, this is the script that does it to artboard size, which is a good one on it's own, just not quite what I need this time.

The asset export only works for single object shapes, right?

No. You can also put in objects that have multiple shapes. https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/collect-assets-export-for-screens.html
