Font scrolling/preview

Anyone else having constant issues with scrolling through fonts in either of the font panels. I get 3 down and it gets stuck, on a system font, i've reset the entire system fonts - reset illustrator and i can't seem to scroll more than 3 fonts. It's driving me mad.

I don't have that problem anymore, but in the past I had to turn off "Enable Missing Glyph Protection" in Preferences > Type to get the scrolling to work.
