Gaussian Blur Creating Artifacts

Contributor ,
Aug 12, 2021 Aug 12, 2021

I'm using Gaussian blur close to its max setting on a large area (think display booth wall). After it renders, I'm getting a repeating, horizontal artifact (not banding, not clipping). See image.

If it is not an GPU Preview problem (Try Cmd or Ctrl E), it maybe be a limitation of a raster effect in Illustrator.

If so, you could try pasting the vector (without the effect) as a smart object in Photoshop, apply the blur in Photoshop and place the psd file linked in Illustrator.

I'm having this exact same problem. Did you find a solution?
