Glitchy shapes appearing on rendered paths (Apple M1 Pro with macOS Monterey).

I am on a 2021 16-inch MacBook Pro with an Apple M1 Pro using macOS Monterey and using the latest version of Illustrator.

I have created a simple path with curved lines in Illustrator. The curved line renders ok, but there are these glitchy shapes appearing and if I change the shape of my curve, the shapes jump all over and rearrange. Then when I set the opacity to say 70% for my layer, these glitchy shapes remain at 100% opacity and you can clearly see them. Sometimes these shapes even protrude outside of my shape.

Any ideas on what's going on here and how to correct this?

Hi make sure your path or shape is closed, I mean the point from where you start must end on it to make complete shape

Thanks for the response. The path is closed. I have noticed that this issue only appears on the 'concave' portion of curves. For instance, if I overlap two ellipses on top of each other, and then use 'Minus Back' to create a crescent shape, only the concave curve will have these glitchy shapes that appear inside of my shape.

Oops, I didn't realize you can add pictures like this. This is when I simply overlapped two ellipses and performed a 'Minus Back' to create a crescent shape and then those odd shapes appear within my shape.

Aha, that's it, thank you!

Actually, it's called 'View on CPU' now. Maybe the menu label has changed recently from 'Preview on CPU' to 'View on CPU.'

Thank you so much.
