This forum was set up specifically for users to request features they'd like to see in future versions of Adobe Illustrator.

The truth is, everyone can come up with cool ideas for Illustrator -- whether your an expert, a novice, or anywhere in between. It's an open discussion so feel free to chime in with your ideas!

Multithreading and multi CPU support for Illustrator. Terrible performance for the present and modern technical level. Catastrophically outdated kernel and plugins, especially 3d plugin. When you load not so large number of plugins, scripts, custom styles, swatches and brushes, Illustrator simply loses its functionality (look what happens in the program menu).

2 ideas for Adobe Illustrator tool.

1. The pen Rake tool. You can add 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 pens or markers to a line equally or randomly spaced.

Drag or spin the line like a rake across the paper that converts into a vector line.

2. The shadow projector tool. Draw any shape. Then use the Shadow projector tool that will shine an unseen light but a visible shadow that can be converted into a vector. So think if you bring in a say image of a hammer or bag or a bike. The Shadow projection tool can take the outline of this shape and project a shadow in various angles. high, low, close, far.
