How do I put a gradient through 6 different objects? I now have 6 gradients in each object, but I just want 1 gradient through all six of them.

Amy,

If the objects are separate, you can just select all of them and Ctrl/Cmd+8 to turn them into one compound path.

Otherwise, you can ClickDrag the Gradient Tool across all.

They don't have to be a compound path— they can be separate objects (or a group).

Select them with the Shift key (or marquee drag) and apply the gradient. Select the Gradient tool from the Tools panel (G) and drag across them.

Jane,

As I (mis)understand your way, that was what I meant with the Otherwise part.

Jacob, it was I who misunderstood you on the "otherwise" part!

Jane,

But we seem to have the same understanding of the right ways, also of English.
