Gradient Stroke

I am trying to use the gradient tool in the stroke, but the bar disappears, got only once what could be happening?

This bar at this same angle to the stroke, but I'm not identifying the reason is blocked.

Gradient annotator can only be applied to Fill Not stroke

Strange, I really don't know how I got it  to apply it to the stroke.

You probably just wanted to apply a gradient to the fill by clicking the gradient swatch, but had the line control activated. Happens all the time on those days when your karma is not that good. (Shift-x is the remedy...)

You can modify the gradient from the gradient panel

window -> gradient

or you can press G then Enter , the gradient panel will show up
