Greyed Out functions

Hello was wondering if someone can help me out here, very new to Illustrator. 
My Object->Path functions are greyed out.
I did all the Reset suggestions I read in the community before writing here, however it didn't work. Here is a screenshot. Is it because of my file? I put in a PNG if that helps. Everything is up to date. 🙂
