Hi there!
I am trying to place an illustrator file into after effects, so that I can create a 3d spinning logo.
It is my understanding that I need to convert the logo to a shape before exporting to after effects.
I am trying to convert text to a shape. I have the same message everytime no matter what I try, it says 'object not converted'
Is it the font I am using?
Please help!!

'Shape' in Illustrator means live shapes: rectangle/ellipse etc. with specific editable properties.
You probably want to convert your text to outlines (Type > Create Outlines).

you don't have to create it to outlines before importing into after effects.
when you import the logo ,you can convert it to shape directly from After effects by pressing right click on the Ai layer in the comp and select create -> create shape from vector layer
to create 3d spinnig , activate the cube icon as shown in below screenshot

Hi Mohammad, thanks for replying.
This is my issue in after effects:
When converting to vector, it grey square appear over the image? Why is it doing this and not allowing me to create a 3d form from my smart object?
