how become black text

i want black highlight part text to become black. I tried to change color in text setting. It can't change color. how to solve the problem?

Tom,

It looks as if you may have added a New ill (Appearance) with a Convert to (Rectangle) Shape effect, and then the (black) text is invisible blck on black (you need a contrast).

since, i replaced new computer, i install adobe illustrator cs5.5 at new computer. The ai file text color is white at the new computer. if i open the ai file text color is black at old computer, i do not know how to solve the problem.

Tom,

You may try to reset the Preferences, Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup.

But you may have trouble with CS5.5 on a new(er) OS.

i tried  press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup. And i rename "

Windows: <OSDisk>\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator <version number> Settings\en_US*" folder to reset Preferences.  the text still is white. 

my windows os is windows 10. adobe illustrator installed at new computer yesterday.

Finally, i uninstall adobe illustrator at the new computer and reboot the the computer. Then, i re-install adobe illustrator at the new computer. The ai file text black color can appear. I am no update the adobe software to new update.

Maybe this is a bug in the adobe illustrator

Please select the text object with the select tool (just one click)

Then open Window > Appearance

And make a screenshot and upload it.

Or upload the file to Dropbox or the like and post the link.
