___ How do I convert an Ai logo to a .dst file for use in embroidery?
Is there an easy way?
Thanks,
Hugh
Like so perhaps:
http://www.embroideryi2.com/adobe
Took 5 seconds to search on Google.
Mylenium
This option is not working, and is not a solution: You have to jump through hoops to get the download for embroideryi2, and then there are 2 links to purchase your activation code, one is broken "ERROR 1034" the other takes you on a wide goose hunt to find where you need to purchase said code. At this point I'm assuming it's going to cost way more than the $25 fee for the print house to do all this for me and save my sanity, so for that reason, I'm out and this is not a solution or solved issue

That costs a bundle. There is supposed to be a way to take the AI File -- save it, convert it, and open it to work on in the VP3 embroidery files.

Even up to this day, version 2 has not been released.

Does the embroidery software you're using have any ability to import artwork from other file formats, such as EPS, PDF, etc?

I have yet to make it far enough to install any embroidery software or find a conversion tool that doesn't make me feel like I'm handing over my identity to the dark web, lol! In other words, I don't do enough projects like this to justify paying for something I'll use once and not need again for 3 years. This is for a one-time project involving our corporate logo and would need it in less than 2 days so I've opted to pay the fee for the conversion with the vendor I most trust with our brand.
I had no idea the complexities of the different machines & software to convert files, nor the huge expense of such software. I recall exporting AutoCad and other CNC machine files in previous versions of Illustrator, it appears they've stripped these or have not kept up with the ever-changing differences between all the different file extensions and left it in the hands of vendors and third-party software. Makes Sense.

That's the reality of having to work with industry-specific software. It's common for such applications to cost thousands of dollars. It makes the price of a Creative Cloud license seem cheap by comparison. Depending on what a shop is doing (embroidery, screen printing, sign making, etc) the production hardware may cost a lot more. Consumables that are run through the machines aren't cheap either. Add in labor costs and other operational costs. It equals not being able to price one's services for very cheap.

Well, yes. It has been posted 13 years ago. So many things have changed since then.

Sooo ... I have Adobe products, but not that one. I am a graphic design student, but do freelance. Trying to save the $15 - $20 fee at the embroider's for converting to a dst or isi ... for stitch count and machine. Is there still no simple way to do this without buying another program?

Cost 3500 dollars to buy though.

So a "$15 to $20" fee seems entirely fair for the services of someone who had to buy it.

Yes Digitizing is a complex job while converting to Dst it took time draw as per embroidery digitizing guidelines.
If someone want it cheap then refer me to order@embroiderycurves.com

I think the better way is to send it to digitizer. So, he/she will be responsible for quality work. Because if we convert it directly from AI to any machine embroidery file then i am sure auto conversion software's are not able to do it exactly that high quality can be achieved.

I suspect that the 100 EUR fee is not just to click "convert" in some software. As is often the case, people with no experience in something often assume a task is basically automatic and unskilled: all they need is the right software, preferably free. I suspect that the person earning the 100 euro is not just using their knowledge to set up the options for the conversion, they are running test patterns on the machine, adjusting and repeating until there is something that the client will accept. On a repeat job, this time and money is saved.

No. That's for a manual creation done by a professional.

Acceding to my perspective it’s much better to get work done from a digitizer instead of buying expensive software and spending enough time for learning. Hope this will make sense that it’s not a conversion process.
Mostly I use these guys https://zeedigitizing.com and I’m happy with them. May help you guys
