When I was using CS6, I used to press cmd + S, then cmd + W to close the file. And the file will automatically close after it's save in the background. I recently start to use CC, and when I do cmd + S, and cmd + W immediately, a warning pops up every time saying "The doc is currently getting saved. It will be closed after the save is complete." This really interrupts my workflow. And I cannot find anywhere to disable this warning. Please help. Thank you.

Only in CS6 the file didn't save in the background.

I think a lot of us are hoping Adobe does away with that alert in the next update. (I don't understand why a background save before closing necessitates the interruption imposed by a spurious popup dialog.) In the meantime, there's no way for us to get rid of it. Just don't accidentally click the ridiculous Close Anyways button.

Hi,
If "Save in background" is turned off, it will close without any alert after saving.

Just installed Illustrator 24. Was a bit annoyed by the new save in background "feature". If I, in my speedy workflow, attempt to close my document right after saving, I now get a warning dialogue:
This dialogue does not inform me that the close anyways option means that the saving is aborted and no file is produced. Maybe it should.
Also, the word anyways, is that really formal English?
