Hello,

I make a repeat grid of one object and they seem like one object in illustrator. Now, I want to modify each item in this object, so I need to break the link between them. What should I do?

Object menu > Expand, then Object menu > Clipping Mask > Release. Select and delete the no-fill/no-stroke rectangle that now sits above the objects.
