Hi
I am new and i wanna reproduce this as part of course exercise. it is shown below. and i need to produce that flower-looking shape.
any idea how ???

I could be wrong, but that image looks like it had been produced using an application, that had never been in a vector-formatted orientation. If I were you, I would use Vector Magic (non-Adobe product), an online program that transforms raster files to vector files automatically with some neat features. It has a monthly-fee, if you sign up for it online, or you can buy a license (about $360) for it, to work on two computers.
One benefit it has is that you can save files as .AI files using it.

That looks like some very intricate guillochee drawing that maybe can't be done using the typical methods in Illustrator.

I know one artist who does artwork of this nature. However, since he is using another tool other than an Adobe product... I probably should not promote him in the forums.
So I would go with Ton's suggestion as it looks like there are several videos relating to this on Google....
