How to make a graph like this in Illustrator

Hi community.

 

I see there are some options in AI to make a graph. But I'm after something like this which is displayed in wikepedia.

I think this has been discussed in a thread a couple of months/years ago. You would have to abuse the diagram tools quite a bit to get it.

Or you take a look at 9-slice guides in symbols. But then it would just be a graphic. 

You could also check out if the commercial third party plugin Datylon can do it.

Or Excel. And then copy it from there and brush it up in Illustrator.
