Illustrator CC 2017does not package links (graphics)

Please help me, I am going nuts. I have already reset my preferences but my Illustrator only packages the file and the fonts. No links (graphics) at all. Can anyone help?

Are your graphics linked or embedded? Only linked graphics are collected. If the graphics are embedded no Links folder will be created.

Hi Bill, you are right! I spoke to an Adobe support person and this was the problem however since I have never embedded images I am wondering how it happened! At least i learned something new:) Thank you for your response, best regards, Sam

Your imported graphics would have been automatically embedded if the "Link" option was unchecked in the bottom portion of the Place Dialog Window. See screen shot below:
