How much RAM is installed?
Is color management set up properly? And not "Emulate Illustrator 6"?
Do you have a printer installed?
Are all fonts OK and aren't there too many fonts?
Do you have any third party plugins installed?
At which point exactly does it crash?
You can also contact https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html They can login to your system to figure it out.

As far as I know, the fonts are fine and I do have a wireless printer connected. How do you check for bad fonts? I have 8 GB of RAM. I don't have plug-ins installed. The app crashes within a few minutes of working in it. The color setting is on North America General Purpose 2. I uninstalled it and installed 28.4.1. and I was able to finish my work. I don't know how long it's going to last though.

8 GB of RAM is just sufficient to launch Illustrator at all.
You could use Fontbook to search for bad fonts.
