Illustrator crashing when exporting .psd

well folks im up to my limit. right now, exporting a file as a .psd from illustrator is basically a laugh in my face. i can go through the entierty of the file location /type settings, then the image speciifcations settings, and it crashes after the little blue loading bar just barely starts. everytime. ive tried making my files as bare bones as the settings will go, ive updated, uninstalled and reinstalled illustrator, up and downgraded my os, talked with adobe like 5 times as they tell me its "fixed" (fixed ~maybe~ for about an hour) but to my avail it crashes every single time. it used to work about a year and a half ago, and sometime between now and then it has decided to just crap out on me. and no one seems to have a solution. so people of illustrator i am asking your help because adobe has been absolutely useless

• OS and version of Illustrator
• Where the files are saved/ Exported (Network Drive/ System HDD/ Shared Folder on System /External HDD)? 
• When did this start happening? Are there any recent changes made to your system? For example, any antivirus, system updates or web extensions installed recently. 
• Share crash logs by following these steps: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/kb/crash-next-steps.html 
• If you are working on Windows OS, please share the event viewer logs related to Illustrator

I had the same issue a while back, I did notice for my problem that the colour format was the issue.

RGB or CMYK seemed to impact on trying to export to .psd, as I say, it helped me, it might help you if you change the colour format.
