illustrator CS6 keeps freezing and booting me out!

Hi there - my illustrator CS6 keeps freezing and booting me out with an error message: "a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". In addition to this, when I "save for web" the image comes out totally pixelated even though everything is linked. Help!
