Illustrator - Ctrl Y Not working

Hello Guys,
I hope you can help me.
I have a problem with the Ctrl+Y function on illustrator.
I have had a new computer for a couple weeks and ever since I tried to only see the outlines of my file (Ctrl+Y) on illustrator, all I get is a frozen screen and no outlines.
I cannot see my file move but once I go back to the normal mode (Ctrl+Y) the file has moved based on the mouvement I have done in the outline mode.
I have tried to restart my computer and illustrator but nothing works.
I have checked my video drivers and they are up to date.
This new computer has better performances than the last one and I had never had this problem before.
Thank you for your assistance,
Best,

What version of Illustrator are you using? If you are on a new PC then it will have the latest version of Windows 10 installed. If you are using Illustrator CS6 or below then you should know that they are not compatible or supported on Windows 10. If that is the case then what is happening would be as a result of that. If that is so then you could try running the computer in compatibility mode with Windows 7 and see if that helps. Otherwise you will need to get a subscription to Creative Cloud and update to Illustrator CC 2018.

OK then. Since it is a new install then it is unlikely to be an issue of corrupt preferences so it seems more likely to me that your original install of Illustrator might have gone wrong. Try uninstalling and reinstalling in the following manner:
In the app section of your Creative Cloud desktop app click on the “V” next to the app’s (Illustrator) name and choose the “Uninstall” option from the pull-down menu that appears. After you’ve run the uninstall then use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems . Then reinstall the program through the Desktop app. Before you reinstall, once again trash all preference files to make sure that your install is completely clean. Then launch Illustrator and see if the problem persists.
If that does not work then you might need to contact Adobe Customer Care Contact Customer Care so that your system can be checked out. They can do a diagnostic and figure out problems with it that can't be done in the user to user forum.

I've had to contact adobe directly. My problem came from the graphic card driver, once updated I had no problem.
Thanks again!
