After use the cleaner tool and re-install the software, still fail to enter illustrator. Error message: dxcore.dll
Note: Renamed by Mod
1 Correct answer
I can confirm that once I installed the latest Beta Version of Adobe Illustrator that I was able to launch the program without the "dxcore.dll" error. I was also able to open multiple documents simultanously w/o issue.

I have come to the same coclusions on SVR2019 1809! What is interesting is that downgrading does not resolve the issue entirely. It does eventually break again. What has worked; in the server env (RDP) is to leave Ai open on one of the users sessions, and that allows other users to work with Ai and so far it has not crashed in about a week.
I did get a notice about Adobe security bulletin and Ai was in the affected list, so maybe a new update was released that we can try?
Seeing this is intermittent leads me to believe the dependecy on dxcore.dll could be a race condition with the API call failing due to some error being reported back from the API, or exit failure which could likely be trapped, but not killed.
We do have an Radeon 6900XT card in the server.

"...Or maybe new version of Illustrator introduced a dependency on this dxcore.dll and it is not present in server distributions."
That. It is that... 🙂
I can even tell a plausible reason.
Adobe wants to sell more licenses...soooo how to do it?
Well remove people's ability to run Ai on a server.
Oooor this is an innocent bug which Adobe will be glad to fix... 😉

Running it on a server for multiple users is not allowed by the license anyway: https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/how-to-use-illustrator-as-a-server-in-automat...

For clarification, each user on the "server" does have an applicable CC license. No issues with EULA or etc as stated in the license agreement under the secion "Server". Also this "server" has been in operation for 4 years.

Yes, this has been attempted. SFC comes back clean without any indications of corruption.

I can also independently confirm that I ran SFC scans and DISM scans from the command line as detailed in the above help article.
With my systems there was nothing out of the ordinary with all tests passing w/o issue.

We're running 2019 v1809 as well. So perhaps Adobe can isolate this to server editions, fix it and life goes on.

Bonjour,
J'ai eu le même problème, même après avoir réinstallé Illustrator.
J'ai donc essayé d'installer la version 28.4 avec le Creative Cloud, et ça marche !
En espérant vous avoir aidé,

Hello, installing BETA applications should not be considered an accepted solution. This may well be a temporary workaround. It would be appropriate for Adobe to provide an official response with the root cause, resolution, and ETA for a GA release incorporating the fix. Asking for BETA testers should be expressed with caution as it could impact production environments in unintended ways. This feels like the pre ITIL days when Dev's would also be Release Managers...Let's just throw it on the wall and see if it sticks...Yikes.

If I install the Beta, it says "your illustrator build is expired" so.. no solution for me unfortunately.
Please update this issue to the main version, as I cannot work anymore.

Can you also now merge this change with Photoshop Version 26.1
This version is now experiencing the dxcore.dll issue in the exact same way.
