I imported an image from photoshop and did an image trace on it to work with it in Illustrator. I combined all the results in a group and was messing around with different effects. Eventually, I wound up in the appearance attributes panel playing around with SVG Filters. I had the preview box ticked so I could see the effect swapping various effects and filters had but the selection lines outlining each of the different components of the group were so tightly packed, you can't see the underlying image. Does anyone know of a way to hide the selection lines? It's not the end of the world but does defeat the purpose of the preview option and it's just a little easier to flip between different effects on the attributes panel than the dropdown menu and then selecting the effect and then undoing it.
Thanks!

Do you mean View > Hide Edges (Cmd/Ctrl H)?

@jamesz69398639 if you unselect any object, the selection lines will not show.
Versus selected...granted, while taking a screenshot, it shows the paths and anchors
