Line Width Tool Creating Glitchy Lines! Help!

Hey, I've been suffering this for so long, but I'm finally fed up enough to go out of my way and find help. This handy animation will show you exactly what my problem is.

It's been an issue of mine for so long, and the only way to resolve it that I know of is to alter the angle a bunch, sometimes completely ruining the way the line was intended to be.

When applying a variable width profile (either from the menu or with the tool), Illustrator will always create width points at some places automatically (usually at corner points). These cause those issues. You can try and edit the width at those automatically created width points.
