If I change the name of a main folder, do the links in illustrator, break?
I mean, I have a whole project in 1 folder and now in the end of the process, I want to change the name of it. Will it ruin all the links on the files I have inside the folder?
No, it will not. If the links are in the same file as the main document, (including if within a Links folder) it will find the files automatically. (Tested as we speak on a Mac. Can't speak to the Windows world at the moment).
Regardless, if you are concerned, just try it. If there's an issue, you know where the files are so it would take no time at all to relink them.
Actually there is an issue, because the file I'm talking about has lots of links from different folders. All in the main folder, but in different folders. that's why I'm worried. If the links break, I will have to find images from different files and folders.
Example:
Catalog folder - photos folders 1, phots folder 2, photos folder 3. then 5 different ai files linking photos from all 3 folders.
If I change the name "catalog" will that affect the links or not.
