Make AI 2021 editable pdf to use in AI 2020

I want to know Make AI 2021 editable pdf to use in AI 2020.

I used this settings but my friend said he can not edit my pdf file wich I was creating using AI 2021. My friend is using AI 2020.

Why wont he install 2021, and why is he trying to edit PDFs??? You only edit PDfs as a last resort when you don't have the .ai file.

Either send him the .ai file save as to an earlier version if needed, or ask hm to additionally install AI 2021. He can run both unless he has a very very old computer.

This is not really the correct workflow. If you both have Illustrator, then send an .ai file. If he can't upgrade to 2021 for some reason, save down to a legacy format.

.ai may be larger. pdf easy to handle is there any process?

Sorry, that's nonsense. If AI is larger it's because it's THE WHOLE FILE. What your friend needs to edit it. Sure, a PDF can be made smaller but then it isn't your design any more. Illustrator isn't a general PDF editor.

Again, you are looking at this the wrong way. If the idea is for your friend to edit the file, then you need the proper workflow, not the smallest file size.
