Hi!

I'm looking for a way to create a mosaic where the dots are offset please. For the regular dot mosaic I've been using Create Object Mosaic and then Convert to Shape which works well.

Is there a way to create a dot mosaic but with the dots offset?

Thanks.

Another way to create a mosaic with 45 degrees dots:

Rotate the image 45 degrees and create an Object Mosaic.

Rotate it back and round the corners or replace the rectangles with a script to another shape.

I suppose you want to convert something into that kind of mosaic?

Or just create that as a repeatable pattern?

You could try thos with third party software Vectoraster (not for free, only Mac)

If the example you showed is exactly what you want, you can easily do that with dotted lines and the transform effect or with a single dot and the Make Pattern option.

Let us know and we can give examples.

Like Ton said, here are the two methods I would use.

Shown in Green is a Pattern Swatch.

Shown in Blue is two Effects>Transforms applied.
