Like the title suggests, I'm new to illustrator looking to make some still art, some things are already familiar, but I was wondering if there are any settings/shortcuts I could change to the tools or interface to make it feel more like the tools of after effects? already started matching up some keyboard shortcuts.

I would recommend experimenting with the different stock work spaces and even taking steps to customize them. I like the Essentials Classic workspace as a starting point.

So maybe you also want to view some of the introductory videos in the Help section to get an idea of what it's all about.

WHat kind of artwork are you planning to make? If you have some examples, we could give you hints of where to look.
